The Liberian Women Empowerment Network (LIWEN) is a registered non-governmental, not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the rights and well-being of women and girls living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Established in 2006 by a core group of women drawn from seven support groups of persons living with HIV, LIWEN was officially registered under the laws of Liberia on February 24, 2011. It remains the only national network exclusively focused on women and girls living and affected by HIV in Liberia.

Liberia is divided into 15 administrative counties, with Monrovia as its capital. LIWEN operates nationwide, with specific project sites in Montserrado, Nimba, Lofa, Bong, Grand Bassa, Grand Gedeh, Grand Cape Mount, Sinoe, Gbarpolu, River Gee and Margibi counties This broad geographic reach allows LIWEN to address the needs of women and girls in both urban and rural communities, ensuring that hard-to-reach populations receive essential HIV services.
